We are developing a new model of dust and ice particles ensembles from a microscopic point of view, in order to study in detail physical processes occurring in the upper layers of cometary nuclei with ice sublimation due to incoming solar radiation. With our code we want to reproduce observational characteristics of cometary nuclei, such as the dust to ice mass ratio, the dust mass size distribution or the scattering properties of the surface. We also plan to analyze different internal nuclei characteristics, i.e. porosity and density, and to study the differences between comets changing the dust to ice ratio. Initial results and perspective works are shown in this poster.

Abstract
We are developing a new model of dust and ice particles ensembles from a microscopic point of view, in order to study in detail physical processes occurring in the upper layers of cometary nuclei with ice sublimation due to incoming solar radiation. With our code we want to reproduce observational characteristics of cometary nuclei, such as the dust to ice mass ratio, the dust mass size distribution or the scattering properties of the surface. We also plan to analyze different internal nuclei characteristics, i.e. porosity and density, and to study the differences between comets changing the dust to ice ratio. Initial results and perspective works are shown in this poster.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
