Abstract

This paper describe the results of a PHD multidisciplinary research on four geo-archaeo-sites along the Sorrento Peninsula coast. Those sites host ruins of Roman villas whose study has allowed reconstructing the ancient position of both the sea level and the coastline. Moreover, other change of the coastal landscape were reconstructed and interpreted in terms of interaction between endogenous and exogenous factors, such as volcanic eruptions, alluvial events, wave erosion and impact of human constructions.
