In this work we show the results of the application of an eulerian photochemical air quality model to the Naples urban area, Southern Italy. In spite of the limited available data, model results agree with observed ozone patterns and wind fields. Different scenarios involving reductions of input nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds were simulated. These modeling efforts are aimed at supporting local regulatory agencies to apply appropriate control strategies to the problem of photochemical air pollution.

Abstract
In this work we show the results of the application of an eulerian photochemical air quality model to the Naples urban area, Southern Italy. In spite of the limited available data, model results agree with observed ozone patterns and wind fields. Different scenarios involving reductions of input nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds were simulated. These modeling efforts are aimed at supporting local regulatory agencies to apply appropriate control strategies to the problem of photochemical air pollution.File in questo prodotto:
