Abstract

Harvesting is a key stage that influences the product quality, the type of logistics chain and the economic sustainability of the pruning supply chain. For this reason many machine manufacturers have developed dedicated implements for collecting pruning residues. According to what written above the selection of an appropriate harvesting systems, and so an accurate evaluation of different suitable machines, is a fundamental step to the correct development of a complete and efficient pruning supply chain. Thus the aim of the present study was machine performances and biomass quality evaluation in olive trees’ pruning harvesting conducted with Fotopoulos FSR2000.
