In the last years, European institutions regulation in the sports phenomenon has considerably intensifed. A new sport dimension has been researched and improved not only at the level of single Member, but also at the Community level. Te White Paper on Sport, presented on 11 July 2007, has been the result of consultations and proposals that involved all the experts in the sector, from sports Federations to Olympic Committees, from Community Institutions to Member States, including an online consultation launched in February 2007, represents the frst global initiative in the feld of sport by the European Commission: it is divided into 4 chapters dealing respectively with the social role of sport, the economic dimension of sport, the organization of sport and dialogue and cooperation between states members in sports.
