Abstract
Car terminals are important logistic hubs in charge of vessels loading/unloading and car’s temporary storage before their routing to the final destination. In this paper terminal operations are described and their costs are defined. A discrete event simulation model is developed to support day-by-day terminal managers’ decisions, enabling what-if analysis on the basis of manager's planning and scheduling choices with the objective of minimising the logistic costs and pollutants' emission.File in questo prodotto:
