Multae gentes ... quibus terrae laeticae administrandae sunt. A proposito di CTh 13.11.10

Aims at solving the “barbarians’ issue”, the constitution of Honorius, made in 399, included in CTh. 13.11.10, puts a stop to the rampant malpractice by which multae gentes coming to beyond the limes, through the collusion of principales or defensores civitatum, or through falsification of documents and rescripts, or also through real abusive occupation, were able to obtain more land than that to which they were entitled.

Finalizzata ad arginare la ‘questione dei barbari’, la constitutio di Onorio del 399, riportata in CTh. 13.11.10, sembra porre un freno al dilagante malcostume secondo cui multae gentes provenienti al di là del limes, per il tramite di atteggiamenti collusivi di principales o defensores civitatum, oppure per mezzo di falsificazioni di documenti e di rescritti, oppure ancora attraverso vere e proprie occupazioni abusive, riuscivano ad ottenere più terra di quanto a loro spettasse.
