Abstract

The effects of residual uncompensated trajectory deviations on the phase accuracy of motion compensated synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images was studied. The raw data relative to a target point was simulated by introducing a quadratic uncompensated error which gave an uncompensated trajectory deviation. The linear and quadratic deviations interacted with the SAR processing and generated an additional phase artifact with respect to the simple geometric considerations.
