In this paper we discuss the extension of an algorithm for efficient processing of SAR data acquired in sliding spotlight mode based on a two-step approach. The two-step spotlight data processing procedure, already introduced in the literature, is a very simple and effective procedure because it is based on a plain use of classical (i.e. stripmap mode) SAR processing codes. The algorithm here proposed extends the two-step approach in such a way t account for the presence of squint. Experiments have been carried out on simulated data to clarify the rationale of the method and to confirm its validity. Results obtained by processing real data of the COSMO-SKYMED constellation are also presented. © 2012 IEEE.
