In this paper, the shielding effectiveness (SE) measurement of a metallic fixture in a reverberation chamber (RC) is described. A side of the fixture is removable, and a non-woven fabric is used as gasket; it is de facto configured for the SE measurement of gaskets by fulfilling a metallic enclosure; the SE measurement is made according to the International Standard IEC 61000-4-21. The non-woven fabric is made up of polyester fiber coated with nickel; it has a thickness of 1.5 mm and is compressible. In order to avoid any leakage unconnected to the gasket, only the frequency stirring is used to stir the field inside the fixture. The results show that the non-woven fabric can be advantageously used as gasket, also to achieve fixtures for SE measurements in an RC, as it is very effective and easy to apply, as well as similar material.
