The aim of this paper is to determine objective criteria and general rules for the selection of the best satellite configurations for point positioning. The study is based on some general considerations of configuration symmetry and is here focused on GPS positioning but the approach is general enough to be applied directly to other existing or future space systems. Different scenarios are investigated: absolute and relative positioning, space and ground positioning, range and pseudorange measurements.

Abstract
The aim of this paper is to determine objective criteria and general rules for the selection of the best satellite configurations for point positioning. The study is based on some general considerations of configuration symmetry and is here focused on GPS positioning but the approach is general enough to be applied directly to other existing or future space systems. Different scenarios are investigated: absolute and relative positioning, space and ground positioning, range and pseudorange measurements.File in questo prodotto:
