The present paper refers to the Stakeholder Theory as a theoretical framework suitable to identify the main issues of sport event appraisal (especially mega events). The paper first describes the ways in which Stakeholders are involved in the event, then proposes a framework that contains the set of objectives and methodologies of evaluation of each Stakeholder in order to achieve a better understanding of the event by observing it from several and various perspectives of business. The appraisal methodologies considered the most appropriate for evaluating sports event are closely focused either on business revenue ratios or return on investment (from private investors such as sponsors and media) and on those related to social and economic aspects, adopted by host community.
