This paper presents to the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) community the polarimetric characterization of three-dimensional, i.e. non-planar, fields in terms of degree of polarization and entropy. Three-dimensional fields arise by the superposition of plane waves traveling in different directions and this is of applicative relevance in EMC. The paper also shows that alternative formulations, recently appeared in EMC literature, do not lead to correct results.

Abstract
This paper presents to the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) community the polarimetric characterization of three-dimensional, i.e. non-planar, fields in terms of degree of polarization and entropy. Three-dimensional fields arise by the superposition of plane waves traveling in different directions and this is of applicative relevance in EMC. The paper also shows that alternative formulations, recently appeared in EMC literature, do not lead to correct results.File in questo prodotto:
