Abstract
Wind vector over the sea is fundamental to pre- dict and understand meteorological and climatic processes. Mi- crowave remote sensing is able to make measurements that can be processed to estimate the wind vector. This ensures a better spatial and temporal coverage with respect to the traditional in situ techniques. At the present state-of-art, the operational tech- nique is associated to scatterometer, but new techniques, based on polarimetric radiometer and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), have been also suggested. This paper is a review of all these techniques.File in questo prodotto:
