Business economists have long recognized the existence of a relationship between corporate performance and the capabilities of the people or team playing the role of entrepreneurs to implement a viable business idea; this relationship is generally more pronounced in smaller companies. For this reason, over the years many studies have attempted to investigate the entrepreneurship level of individuals with reference to some subjective characteristics. It is a matter of considerable importance since it is also agreed that the prospects of success and profitability of a company is increasingly linked to the skills and patterns of behaviour of entrepreneurs; nevertheless these human resources seldom find adequate representation in the accounting models such as conventional financial statements. With this in mind the paper aims to assess the level of entrepreneurship of a sample of homogeneous entrepreneurs of small and medium-sized enterprises.
