Efficient management of biomedical technologies is critical to ensuring operational continuity and maintaining high-quality healthcare delivery. This study, conducted at the’Villa dei Fiori’ clinic in Acerra (Naples), aims to reorganize data pertaining to the entire inventory of biomedical equipment within the healthcare facility, identify existing operational challenges and enhance the maintenance process. First, data were collected through evaluation forms administered to clinical staff. A thorough analysis of these data enabled the standardization of equipment classification and archival processes, achieved through the unification of categorization schemes, the establishment of a specific classification code, and the accurate archiving of serial numbers. Furthermore, a preventive maintenance priority index was calculated for each piece of equipment. Lastly, a sensitivity analysis was conducted on this index to assess its robustness by perturbing the relevance factors of the variables considered by ±10% and ±20 %. In order to present the obtained results, a graphical interface has been developed, incorporating the code necessary for the computation of the priority index.
