This study investigates occupational mismatch in the labor force across selected European countries, focusing on overeducation, overskilling, and severe mismatch. Utilizing recent OECD data, the analysis employs both statistical and subjective approaches to measure mismatch, revealing significant cross-country variation. In addition, a multinomial logistic analysis highlights that factors such as gender, age, and educational background influence mismatch probabilities. The findings underline the need for targeted policies to enhance the alignment of education systems with labor market demands.

Abstract
This study investigates occupational mismatch in the labor force across selected European countries, focusing on overeducation, overskilling, and severe mismatch. Utilizing recent OECD data, the analysis employs both statistical and subjective approaches to measure mismatch, revealing significant cross-country variation. In addition, a multinomial logistic analysis highlights that factors such as gender, age, and educational background influence mismatch probabilities. The findings underline the need for targeted policies to enhance the alignment of education systems with labor market demands.File in questo prodotto:
