The study examines the performance of Campania municipalities in the waste sector. To this end, Firstly two different non-parametric efficiency models are im- plemented using ISPRA data. Finally, a measure of deviation from efficiency com- pared to circular economy standards is defined and calculated. The results show a cluster of municipalities in the metropolitan area of Naples and Caserta with a worse performance in the environmental dimension but with a good performance in the economic dimension.
