The "Journal des savants" and the "Histoire et Mémoires de l'Académie royale des sciences" undoubtedly represent a great editorial novelty in a period of radical change in the dynamics of scientific ideas in Europe. By proposing an overview of the role of these journals in the diffusion of the theories of the new modern science, this article aims to underline the innovative character of these journals not only on the textual level, but also on the strictly linguistic one, in relation to the standardization and diffusion of the terminologies of the scientific disciplines.
