Concrete production involves significant environmental damage, contributing to the global warming due to the large amount of substances with environmental impacts during its entire life cycle. In particolar the most relevant damage, resulting from concrete production is related to the constant growth of consumption of natural aggregate. To address these issues, in recent years the use of recycled aggregates has been widely studied. In this scenario the aim of the present research is a comparative life cycle assessment among four different concrete mixtures composed by incinerator ashes, blast furnace slag, demolition waste and stone scraps, in order to evaluate the environmental and energy impacts reduction. The analysis was implemented with the software SimaPro and with the life cycle impact assessment method Eco Indicator 99. The results show how it is possible to use recycled aggregates in concrete production, to reduce emissions and impacts.
