Internet technologies help museums as memory institutions to collect, preserve and display cultural heritage gaining legitimacy as social and cultural institution creating value for society by connecting past with present and future. Different trajectories of change seem to emerge over time. Museums as organizations information based and knowledge oriented are embracing new technologies for building a museum audience driven, participatory and learning oriented by developing a knowledge approach to enhance internal processes and human resources opening up to audience as active participant in cultural contents creation.
