Abstract

Agro-ecosystem as a complex system, with its various parameters that can impact on its productivity, the human beings on this Earth have stressed this sector because their demands for food and other agriculture products from it. The proposed Ecological-Footprint Agro-Ecosystem Model (EFAM) showed that with the increasing ecological footprint (i.e. demands from the agro-ecosystem) showed a decline relationship with efficiency of productive arable lands. The agricultural lands are in the extreme scarcity. Additionally, in the present study, data of the lands used for agriculture have been transferred to global calories received from the Sun which is stored in the agricultural products, showed that the land is marginally producing the needed calories that the human beings are in need for food security issues globally. This will lead to an economic instability around the world. The policies for the agro-ecosystems should monitor the agricultural condition in the world from the climate change to land productivities and good distribution of the food around the world. This may be through subsidizing the world food production through United Nation programs. In this respect, the UN or the governments should have reserved funds to support subsidizing the food production in the impacted areas of less production but without changing the policy of the market commodities. This fund is to be used not for emergencies but to support farmers to produce the agricultural commodities and to ensure the food security.
