The principal aim of this work is to experiment the characteristics, in terms of precision, of the high resolution satellite images, to the ends of production and updating cartography at various scales, with particular reference to the calculation flow. The study is carried out on a Test area of the Campania region, characterized from a mountainous area lacking of manufactures and from areas densely inhabited in the flat land. The images available are those coming from the satellites SPOT5, IKONOS2 and QuickBird. In details, we carried out a number of Test in order to define both the role of the satellite ephemeris and the right distribution of the GCPs (Ground Control Points) in the process of image georeferencing
