Abstract

In this paper we present a new approach to ameliorate the spatial resolution of microwave radiometers. The approach is physically based on the occurrence of multiple partially correlated measurements in the microwave scanning radiometers. Mathematically the approach is equivalent to a linear inversion problem and its solution is pursued by means of the truncated singular value decomposition (TSVD) procedure. A set of meaningful examples illustrate the validity of the approach.
