TRANSPORT AS STRATEGIC FACTOR OF LOGISTIC INDUSTRY MANAGEMENT

Abstracts. Transportation as a strategic factor in the management of industrial logistics. Today, transportation is an important element for the competitiveness of any company and in this case the mechanical and chemical industry. The transport is in fact one of the components of the value chain of an enterprise and is a key component of two primary activities generating value: inbound logistics and outbound logistics. The "inbound logistics" is associated with the supply of raw materials, storage and distribution of inputs to the production process, such as materials management, warehouse management, inventory control, scheduling of the shuttle and return to suppliers of cargo units. The outbound logistics more closely concerns the distribution to the end customer and the costs of logistics that firm pays. The paper describes these phases focusing first on a proposed development of a logistics cost model that will be refined later
